南瑪都颱風來襲，設在內政部消防署的中央災害應變中心統計，截至28日晚間9時為止，已有7縣市展開預防性撤離措施，共撤離4511人，其中以屏東縣撤離人數最多，撤離人數達1227人，其次依序為花蓮縣1052人、高雄市862人、台東縣747人、南投縣270人、宜蘭縣200人與嘉義縣153人，尚未傳出有人員死傷或受困情況。
